Online education growing in popularity
The number of students taking part in some form of online education has grown by over 73% in the past 4 years. 2 factors are primarily responsible for this rapid increase. One is the number of schools offering some type of online or distance learning degree programs has more than doubled, and the other major factor is the widespread use of broadband has enabled many more people to reap the benefits of this educational revolution. School such as the University of Phoenix have long been offering online degree based education but only recently have others joined them in offering a large selection of college degree programs for students.
