Modern furniture is timeless yet forward reaching
Much of today’s modern furniture can trace its roots to the early 20th century’s modernist movement. Although some elements have changed over the years, the pieces have largely stood the test of time, and can be easily incorporated in any retro or eclectic room design. Despite the nearly hundred years that have passed, the designs are far from dated. For example, an eileen gray table nspires a hopeful look toward the future rather than a backwards look into the past. Fashions come and go, but modern furniture designs are never out of style. Perhaps this is because of the feelings that the pieces inspire. The designs were born of a belief and hope in a tomorrow that has not yet come to pass. Until we achieve utopia, these items will continue to provide the promise of a better future.
