Voice Over Professional Advise
A voice over artist must be able to accept and deal with productive praise, as well as an off-putting critique. If the talent’s voice instructor asks for a different ‘read’ of a script and the talent reads it in the exact same voice as before, annoyance builds, before the artist is even be close to audition time.
Casting directors have no time as it is, and nor do they want to take the time to ‘coach’ a talent through a reading. Listening and providing feedback to the criticism that a talent receives is almost as significant as being able to perform well, produce character voices and speak perfectly.
It is also very important for a voice over professional to keep a positive attitude when dealing with rejection, criticism, and difficult times.
