Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes red and silvery scaled patches to appear on the skin. They are known to be areas where the skin over produced and it is not dangerous. It is an often recurring condition that can leave sufferers feeling depressed. Psoriasis and low self esteem seems to go hand in hand for the majority of sufferers. Many are ashamed of their condition and go to great lengths to cover it up while others are scarred by the taunts of those who do not understand the condition. Although psoriasis is not contagious, many people old and young have the subconscious instinct to avoid contact with sufferers which can only further their self esteem issues and feelings of isolation.
